Dark reddish brown colour, beige foam. Nose of roasted malts, smoke. Gasten is bready, some caramel, light roasty and smokey. Great Festbier!

Tap at Hop Dog. Clear brown body, off-white head. Smokey, bit oily light malty, bit nutty aroma. Lean, dry, fresh taste, smokey, woody, lightly nutty, clean, well made. A pleasant drop!

Brown. Aroma is smoke almond dried fig and date also some non dried fruit. Taste is sweet dried fruit with deep caramel and some smoke. Finish of harsh smoke and bitter hops. Pretty rural. Nice.

Tap at Hopdog, Munich, 19th September 2022. Pours a chestnut brown beer. Aroma is light smoke and caramel. Taste is Smokey, light meat, caramel, malty. Really tasty

Fresh. Pours dark brown. Roasted malty. Yes, it pretends to be smoked, but thats rather, well... but still really good.

On tap at HopDog. Dark reddish brown, decent head. Very light smooth smoke flavor, nice rounded slightly-sweet caramel notes. I guess a lot of people wouldn't even notice the smokiness. Mid complexity, making for a super drinkable dark beer that doesn't tire out the palate.

11th October 2021; Biererei Bar & Vintage Cellar, Berlin. A bit of a session. Second beer was this (on-tap). Red hue to the brown body, so kind of chestnut in colour, off-white head. Malty and earthy, didn't get any smokiness at all, not in the aroma or taste. Wouldn't have bought it if I'd known it was supposed to be a Rauchbier, so really pleased I didn't find any smoke like esters or flavours. I thought this a very pleasant Fest Beer actually.

Bottle. Chestnut color with off-white head. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, nice earthiness too, also a bit smoke. Taste is nutty, chocolate, brownie-like, again smoky. Thick chewy mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very nice actually!
Tap: Smokier, also more drinkable. Very good!
