The Hungarian Terroir Series was created for beers that are completely unique and unrepeatable. These beers are made with some special local ingredients, like fruits, spices or barrels. Furthermore the role of the producer is also very important. The first member of the series it's a collaboration brew with the Heumann Winery from Villány. Spontaneously fermented beer with Syrah pomace. After the fermentation we put the beer to Hungarian Syrah Red Wine Barrels for a year. The result is a very complex beer.Aroma is funky, a little brett and soft vinous notes. Taste is mildly sour with some Syrah red wine notes.

Bottle. Light copper pour, no head. Nose is barnyard, funk, light brett notes. Taste is tart, funky, fruity with lingering earthy, somewhat spicy finish. Light bodied with soft carbo, drinks well below the ABV.

2017er edition. Fantastic fruity nose with hints of grain. Easy to drink with a moderate sourness. Very smooth with soft grain in the back. Fruity, mild, no bitterness. Grain, very mild and soft, fruity but a bite neutral in the aftertaste. Nice refreshing sour dry.

Bottle, Spontan Syrah 2017. Color: Slightly hazy golden, thin white head. Aroma: Funky, malty, vinuous. Taste: Nice Brett funk, malty, moderate to over moderate sweet, subtle vinuous notes, going to more pronounced red wine notes towards and at the finish. Subtle grape skin, light hints of stone fruit. Slightly tart, light bitterness. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Lightly boozy. Dry-ish finish. Nice complexity. Nice Wild Beer.

Huge thanks Midovark for sharing this! Hazy golden body, small whtie head. Lovely aroma, but not what one would expect. Floral, spicy aroma, honey, lighty dusty, and the taste continues in the same direction. Flowery taste, honeyish undertones, light caramel, light wood in the finish. Very, VERY hidden alcohol. No outright wine-like notes, but lovely, lean and fresh. Very good!

Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours golden with a fizzy head that dissipates completely in no time. Lovely funky nose, Brett, Acetobacter and sour apple juice. Medium body, incredibly leathery from the Brett yet there's some apple juice sweetness. Ends dry though. Not exactly a Belgian Gueuze in complexity, but still surprisingly well made. 170320
