This crystal clear chestnut coloured beer is crowned with a tight, fine, stable brown foam and affords aromas of roasted malt, chocolate and summer honey to entice your senses. The full-bodied taste is spicy and combines roasted malt, bitter almond, bitter chocolate and coffee flavours with a soft touch of wood and liquorice. The aftertaste is persistent with an integrated bitterness. Notes of espresso, chocolate and caramel linger on the tongue.

Bottle 0,50 ltr: A heavy bitter brown doppelbock from Kaltenberg. This has a malty, fruity aroma in a goor order of taste.

Flaska från Bierothek. Mahognyfärgad klar vätska med en krämig skumpuck. Kraftig, lätt metallisk i början, kryddig, fruktig sötma med banan, inlagda fikon, fruktkaka, choklad, fudge, men torr eftersmak med aromatiskt trä, kryddor, aska. Rustik och ganska komplex. Mycket gott

Dark red brown colour, beige foam. Nose of caramel, sweet malts, a bit syrupy. Light hoppy notes.

Bottle. Clear dark red/ruby with an ultra short-lived beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, malts and marzipan. Taste of caramel, honey, cherries, plums and some herbs. Herbal bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Rather balanced at first but turns quite boozy halfway in. Ok but it’s basically a rather mediocre Doppelbock.

Bottle from probably Orterer, Garching. Dark red body, off-white head. Caramel and dried fruit in the aroma, quite pleasant. Ends dry, caramelly, fruity, herbal, bitter. Okay.

Brown with a creamy, light beige head. Aroma full of berry jam over toffee. Taste is bitter, but that thin, metallic bitterness that I just associate with hop extracts. A toasted character, a caramel sweetness, and a fruity, prune juice aspect keep it interesting. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Not bad, but not a first class bock.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before December 2023. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of raisins, prunes, molasses and some cough syrup. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity and a bit roasty taste of molasses, chocolate, raisins, caramel, prunes and some cough syrup, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious beer, rather sweet but relatively complex. An unexpected goodie.
