Handpull cask at the Strawberry, Newcastle. Light to mid-ruby brown, clear with a small film of off-white/beige head. Malty aroma, a little bit earthy, some vinous notes. Badic malty taste, sweet but not overly so. A bit of malt vinegar... could be not quite in top condition. Fairly dull.

Gravity tap from wooden barrel. Clear mahogany brown colour with soapy head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of toasted malts. There's a definite woody dryness and a delicate spiciness too. Nice bidy. Very interesting.

Cask. Reddish color, Hoppy aroma with just a hint of oak. Slight hoppy flavor with blackcurrant and a firm maltiness. Hoppy aftertaste with licorice. Good quality bitter.

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Golden-amber with a head. It's a steady bitter with some grain involved making it quite tasty. It's also very easy supping.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Crystal-clear amber with a moderate white head and a light fizz. Good conditioning on this one. Caramel, bread and fruit with a touch of hay. Decent balancing bitterness. Standard bitter but done pretty well. Very easy to drink. Thoroughly approved of by the boring brown bitter brigade in my group.
