Spezial is our Festbier, and originally a collaboration with our good friends at Lost & Grounded. A classic, simple grist of traditional German lager malt and Hallertau Mittelfruh hops in the boil brings real clarity of flavour. A comforting aroma of freshly baked bread with soft notes of peach and cherry blossom. The maltiness is clean and refreshing on the palate giving way to some fruity yeast notes and a long, clean finish.

Can at home from Beer Shop Hitchin. My second taste off between a German fest beer and a UK craft take on the style. And its a clear win for Germany. It's not got the sweet malt that is required. It's also got a really odd taste to it and its not the best. I informed my German friend of the result's and he is very happy. Anyway, on better news my home built beer advent calendar is coming along nicely and I'm now up to 17 bottles.

440ml can, 2023 brew is no longer a collab with L&G but sounds like it's exactly the same recipe. Aroma of pale malts, grassy hops, straw. Taste of pale and bready malts, grains, grassy hops, mild fruity esters, a little straw, crackers, dry bittersweet finish. That's a lovely lager!

Draught @ Track, Manchester. Pours slight unclear yellow with a creamy white foam. Very clean. Straw, crackers, and grains. Smooth and dry bitter finish. Excellent. Just needing a dash of rustic charm to be up there.
