Our 2023 Vintage Ale combines the best of traditional tastes with new hop varieties to deliver this year's own distinct character. Pale Ale malt is at the heart for delicate sweetness, combined with DRC®, a Double Roasted Crystal malt, to provide deeper toffee and raisin tones. Once more we highlight modern English hops, using Opus, Archer, and CF185 to provide peach accents and a pronounced citrus note, underpinned by the zesty marmalade character of our famous Fuller's yeast.

[50cl bottle No. 89804, from Waitrose, Wokingham, enjoyed at home watching England vs Wales in the Six Nations.] A bright copper coloured pour with a tight white head; rich fruit cake aroma; thick and syrupy in the mouth with a sweet grainy body; then a drier finish with some caramel and a satisfying warmth. Less fruity than usual, perhaps better if left to mature.

Tight off white head left a creamy top on a clear copper coloured body. Malt & berry aroma. Medium to full bodied, soft with a lightly carbonated back. Malts, berries, caramel & jam tastes with a spicy peppery finish.

Bottle No 91060 Clear amber/orange pour with a lasting white head. Aromas of orange marmelade, bread/malt, toffee, brown sugar. Taste is marmelade, dark fruits, sweet citrus, malt, toast, brown sugar. A very nice beer indeed and a slow sipper, sugar could be slightly less prominent, though.

Panda thanks to Cloin: Poured a caramel orange with off-white head. Aroma is rich malts, caramel, toffee. Taste is malty, toffee, caramel, dark fruit, figgy, nice alcohol. Sugary finish.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad klar vätska med medelhögt krämigt beige skum. Fruktig doft med marmelad och torkad frukt. Lite sprit och kantig, rejäl beska både resin och pomerans. Har druckigt de tidigare efter några år i källaren. Tycker nog att de hinner pålagring men kul att dricka hyfsat färsk. Gott

500ml bottle in a Fuller's box, no. 14587, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Clear and deep mahogany coloured body under a firm beige head with good retention, leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Really attractive on the nose with scent of caramel malts, dark- and dried fruits, carefully roasted. Rich and well balanced taste of prunes, dates, mid-sweet caramel malts, and mildly stewed fruits followed by a delicious resinous, bittersweet finish, long-lived. Fine depth. Enjoying sipper on a New Years Eve. Top-notch. (Tromsø, 31.12.2023).

Delt med K-O. Mørk amber. Klar. Høyt skum med farge. Lett fruktaroma. Rosiner. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken søt frukt. Mye svisker. Tørr. Hint av alkohol. Lagring av denne hadde vært spennende.

Bottle at home picked up from brewery online shop. Pours a deep amber copper coloured pour with a steadfast beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, layered winter fruits, prune and apricot jam, fig, singed brown sugars, brandy snap sugars, raisin loaf. Some warming alcohol on the nose. Flavour is composed of complex layered malts, figgy pud, prume jam, light spicy, Warming alcohol. Palate is lovely, semi sweet, medium full bodied, fine massaging carbonation, not cloying. Lovely. Little raw in the finish.

Bottle picked up at Systembolaget Ystad and drunk at home 03/12/2023 Toasted and sweet malty with some toffee and caramel sweetness, notes of dried fruit, some marmalade shred, some dried apricot, spices, medium body, spiced lingering sweet finish.
