He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.

Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.

What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: Refreshingly tart base, punchy hop aromatics and lots of bright, fruity flavours.

Opaque and peachy. Not much head. Bright peachy notes from the hops, mango, guava for sure. Passionfruit less obvious. That’s a nice guava character in here for sure. The acidity seems milder than in most Jelly Kings I’ve had lately.

Poured from the tap. Hazy gold with small white head. Mango, guava, Passionfruit, touch of lacto. In terms of Jelly Kings, it’s on the higher end of enjoyability.

(500ml bottle c/o Herbalist, thanks!) Pours moderately hazy deep gold with an average white head and spotty lace. Aroma most potently musky floral guava and passionfruit, blending together but slightly favouring the guava side; sweeter mango with light pine is present rounding things out, some citrus and the funky overripe notes associated with all 3 fruits are kicking around the back. Flavour is lighter than the nose might suggest, somewhat lemony lactic kettle sour base with some wheaty cereals. Passionfruit is the most obvious of the adjuncts, with some of the musky slightly soapy guava in behind, mango and orange sweetness is subtle with a touch of piney grassy character in the dry mineral finish. Lightish body with soft carbonation. A solid JK variant which like many of the tropical fruit ones has a lovely punchy nose but doesn't have the same concentration of flavour.

MBCC Blue. Keg. Hazy gold beer, tiny white head. Light, dry and crisp palate. Good passion fruit, quite tart. Some lemon and modest guava. Dry finish brings out the guava more. Fruity punch here but feckin dry.
