Bottle split at L6 (home Panda), thanks to Fergus, 18/10/22. Hazed chestnut brown with a beige cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is sweet malts, stewed fruits, light bonfire, medicinal tones, toffee fudge, spice. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, brown sugar melt, sticky toffee pudding, light spice, glazed cherries, boozy kick, mellow Speyside tones. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid BW ... fairly subtle on the Speyside elements and comes together well.

Aroma is semi sweet, sticky toffee, white grape, sherry, bruised grape. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sherry, brown grape, tofee, sherry, light tang, light spicy, warming boozy, woody warming alcohol. Nice. Jammy graep. Palate is medium sweet, sticky brown sugars. Ok.

Bottle shared in CW - cheers to Fergus. Pours mostly clear honey-ruby with a small, foamy white head. Medium to big sweet flavour, nice caramel, nips of vanilla, toasted malts. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet and warming finish. Solid.

12th October 2022
Almost clear deep reddish amber beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, smooth, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a nice light creamy sweetness with a mild touch of caramel toffee sweetness. Very nice barrelling delivers the promised smooth honeyish fruity whiskey with a very mild smokeyness. Modest savoury aspect adds further depth. Finishes smooth and with a pinch of alcohol spice. Lovely. Such an assured and smooth barleywine with a good depth of mature yet somehow fresh flavours. Very drinkable.
