Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - murky brown. Thin disappearing head. Nose - whisky and honey, for sure, with burnt wood lurking. Taste - honey, canned tangerine and flapjack and woody boozy finish. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and woody middle and finish. Overall - interesting beer. Not so complex but enjoying the few notes going on.

Monday 25th September 2023, Shrewsbury Gathering in Chez Sophie, 5 blokes and loads of beer. Last beer of the night for me (train to catch). 375ml bottle, great nightcap, pity I had to rush my share. Brown bodied, weak white top, intense and rich body depth, boozy and pretty sweet, my sort of beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of BA Birthday Barley Wine II (American Style Speyside Blend) on 27 Sep 2023 at 07:36 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.
