75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie April 23. Deep dark appearance with deep tan head. Peat features prominently here, coating the nose with peatbog and tcp before you get a sip in. Taste delivers what the overpowering aroma promised. Intense islay peat going on here. You know the score, no point elaborating into any finer details. Really not for me at all. Rated kindly.

17th April 2023; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange in Chez Sophie, five guys drinking and chatting with plenty of snacks. 500ml bottle: BB June 2027. One of our tenth anniversary bottles from Wild Beer we bought together. Peat Bog aroma and taste to this black brew, tanned top on it. Just too much Peat like influences for me, the Whisky barrels used obviously overpowered the base beer completely. Some will love it!

Panda at home, post tasting thanks to Fergus and Dave for the muling, 08/02/23. Black with a khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is mellow roast, lightly smoked malts, dark chocolate, dark fruit rinds, charr, spice. Taste comprises peated whisky, fruit cake mix, spice, TCP, dark malts, cocoa powder, spice, dried red berries. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Decent well balanced impy stout ... the smoked effect is well tempered.

Keg at IMBC 2022. Pours opaque deep brown towards black with a tan cap. Aroma: big peat smoke, iodine, leather, light vanilla & coffee. Taste: moderate+ sweet & bitter, the big Islay whisky barrel vibe continues, caramel, toffee, some vanilla, light salinity. Medium body, quite dry, fine carbonation. Might be too much peaty smoke for some but I loved it.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep brown and murky. Nose - peat smoke and sea salt. Wood smoke. Taste - caramel and wood smoke. Still light seaweed and sea salt. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture with a finish that's dried out with the smoke. Overall - good even if the smoke is overwhelming.
