Rich and dark with notes of toffee, the recipe for this indulgent coffee stout is one of our most closely guarded secrets.

Bottle from Morrisons. A new bottled beer from a supermarket is something of a rarity for me these days. Pours a dark ruby with well formed foamy beige top, nice lacing. Very tempting aroma of caramel, coffee and chocolate. Taste has a toffee and chocolate with an underlying bitter coffee and hint of orange peel. Tasty. For a supermarket offering this is a bit of a triumph. Best Badger beer I've had to date.

500ml bottle, drank at home on 19th December 2024. Black body, light beige crown. Intense coffee aroma and initial taste which didn't diminish in any way during my tasting. Very pleasant, ut you must like coffee!

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Aroma has initial bitter coffee notes soon joined by sweet caramel. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy beige head. Bitter coffee but with a big intrusive dollop of caramel in there too. Sour berry edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Soft vaguely fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. For me the Coffee Stout byline is slightly misleading. Should be Coffee with Loads of Caramel Syrup Stout. Nice enough though. Just heading towards too sweet for me.

500ml bottle from Waitrose, Rickmansworth, Herts. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a decent creamy off white head on top. Rich roasty, coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla taste and aroma. Quite sweet but with a bitter twist. Really good supermarket offering here.

Bottle from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Brown with a small head. Has plenty of coffee and chocolate in both aroma and taste. There's nothing sweet about this, is a tad dry, but very good nevertheless.

Bottle. Nose is immediately too bright: smells of coffee Syrup/ flavourings with slight buried earth and caramel ice cream. A check of the bottle confirms flavourings are added. Taste is coffee Syrup caramel and brown sugar. A glass of syrup. Very poor

4/5/2024. Bottle shared by ITFCDan. From Tesco. Pours very dark brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is toffee brittle, caramel, coffee, treacle, biscuit, roasted malt, vanilla. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, average carbonation. Cut above the average Badger.
