500ml bottle, brygg 460, bought at Vinmonopolet Trondheim Torg. Noisy, short-lived beige head leaving scattered lacing on the glass, clear brown-dark reddish body. Quite inviting aromas of herbal hops and dark malts. Malt-driven taste of caramel together with impacts of raisin and prunes. Stewed fruity ending, rather sweet in the long run. Pretty fair. (Hotel room, Trondheim 03.08.2023).

Backlog June 2018. Clear, slightly reddish golden brown body under a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by malt, some dry fruit, caramel and wood. Taste is sweet and malty with some dry fruit, caramel and brown sugar. Fine body and same aftertaste. Relatively straight forward but close to the Belgium style, even not quite there.

Bottle. Pours a hazy nut brown colour with a light beige head. Aroma of leather, cloves, wood, dried fruit and licorice. Flavour of wood, leather, dried fruit, beef jerky and some alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel and a medium body and bitterness. Malty and nice. A little unbalanced flavour.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 21.11.15. Muddy, dark orange. Beige head. Moderate aroma of soft toffee. Taste of harsh caramel, grass and plum kernel. Low drinkability.

500 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brew #271. ABV is 7.5%. Hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma of brown kandij sugar syrup, caramel and dark dried fruits, a hint of mild spices. Pleasant and medium sweet flavour of brown malts, wood, brown kandij sugar and caramel, some dark fruits, only a hint of mild spices. The woody notes keep me from giving the beer a higher rating, but this is still a fairly decent dubbel. The trappists do it better though.

On tap at Brygghus 9, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out dark fruits, toasted nuts, jelly sweets and some perfumey notes. Flavour brings out jelly sweets and light dark fruits. Too artificial and sweet, with the candies. Not too good.
