Frejdahl Skolder was developed specifically for enjoyment together with the 12-year Highland Park whisky. In a most distinguished way, the sweetness of the beer captures the warming character of the whisky. At the same time, the whisky blending with the hints of chocolate from the malt generates a harmonic and classic combination. The delicate smoky Highland Park flavour is elegantly reflected in Skolder’s slightly smoky aroma.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy, beige head. The nose has light peat and a whiff of diacetyl as well. Medium body, lightly sweet, burned caramel, dried fruits and again vague diacety accents. Soft mouthfeel, a little low in carbonation. The smoky notes are pleasantly downplayed. Very subdued bitterness. 22.12.17

Bottle, 75cl corked. A brown beer with a finger thick beige head. Some lacing. Malty, bready aroma with some peat and dried fruits. Sweetish, chocolatey flavor with roasted malt, some prunes and a vague hint of licorice. A touch of peat chimes in. It's full bodied, smooth and with a rather low carbonation level. Lasting lightly sweet finish with peat, dried fruits and a touch of licorice. Delicious indeed. Don't really like the whisky that comes the beer though. 171209

Bottle courtesy of Gunfryd. Clear amber body with a small, lacing beige head. Strong aroma of heavy malt, toffee, peat, toast and bread. Flavor is sweet, heavy malt, toffee, dry fruit, peat, roast and moderate bitterness. Full bodied, fine balance in body and flavor. Long lasting, sweet malty aftertaste. Of course we also had to try it in combination with the attached whiskey and it was a fine combination.
