Dark, clear. Very deep dark garnet highlights. Large, light tan head, moderate retention.
Nose is full of luscious dark malt notes of licorice, baker's chocolate and pumpernickel. A bit toasted, but with good base malt depth filling in the blanks. Clean, mildly hoppy.
A bit toasty, a bit lactic, a bit crackery, but my beer didn't seem too crackery/toasty. Fruity, with lots of dark malt flavor but not over-toasted to my palate. Just enough base malt to balance. Fruity, herbal, vivacious hops break through on the finish, brightening a bit, as well.

Can. Pours clear black, medium beige head, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashy, deep roast for sure. Light sweet, light plus bitter. Does taste like a Schwarz, but clearly labeled a dark ale on the can. Medium body

16 ounce can from Tavour. Jet black pour. Frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma is slightly restrained. Flavor is dark roasted malt with hints of chocolate and coffee. Some spicy hops on backend. Great balance of malt and hops. Very drinkable.

16 oz. can sampled at Weathered 2023, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out crusty bready malt and a hint of toffee. Flavour is very hearty, with lots of bready malt and a hint of dry caramel. Smooth and very nicely balanced. Good.

Poured from 473mL can @ Weathered 2023. Near black with small beige head. Nutty roast malt, touch of ash, quite nice.

16oz can pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice burnt toast roasted malts and some ash. Taste is more of the nice toasted malts roast and toast.
