Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Deep, chestnut brown. Film and dense ring of lasting, mocha head. Nose has hazelnut syrup. Praline. Boozy truffle. Caramel. Cinnamon bun. Some vanilla notes. Taste is fairly sweet, with a burnt wood, and burnt caramel bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, although it feels a little thin overall. Definitely doesn’t feel the ABV. I think it’s lacking some gooey richness, maybe. Low carbonation. Sticky on the lips. Fairly thin and drying on the finish.

Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. It pours opaque jet black with a small - medium white head. The aroma is rich, sweet, intoxicating, roasted malt, juicy, oily, maltesers, mars bar, snickers, toasted nut, toffee, honeycomb and vanilla. The taste is rich roasted malt, heavy sweetness, charred wood, tar, spice, wood, boozy warmth, chocolate, earthy, tannin, stewed black tea and toasted nut with a drying finish. Full body and fine carbonation. The aroma in particular is stand-out. Nice stuff.

Courtesy of Craig who brought a plastic glass with this beauty over to the Routemaster Bus we were sat inside at the Beavertown Beer Extravaganza, Printworks, Canada Water Saturday 9th September 2017 in the company of John and Alan. Pours black with a slim beige head. Very soft mouthfeel, lovely carbonation, roasty but smooth, luxurious, like a chocolate pudding (with nuts) in a glass. Superb beer, smooth, creamy indulgent, loved it. A8 A4 T9 P5 Ov17 4.3
