Tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival in Boston (9-24-2016) showing pitch black with quickly dissipating latte colored foam. The nose shows nutella hazelnut flavors with coffee. Well balanced and complimentary. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Roasted notes in the background with cappuccino forward flavors and notes of light coffee here and there. The hazelnut seems to make it lightly sweet but the hazelnut could just brighten the darker flavors. The finish shows a burnt coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Very well done.

4 oz. draft, Copenhagen Brewfest, Boston. This was marked as the Hazelnut variant. And yes, the aroma shows hazelnut, vanilla bean, chocolate cake batter, and roast.

The warming alcohol is here slightly in the aftertaste but I can’t pick out the bourbon. No matter, the stout itself is lovely. Full thick mouthfeel with a creamy feel over the palate. Large amounts of chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla.

Keg from notes. Nose was hazelnut, sweet malt, coffee, vanilla, ice cream, big chocolate. Taste was rich chocolate and hazelnut, woody, dark chocolate, vanilla, cream, hint of coffee, light bitterness in the finish stopped it being cloying. Rich mouthfeel. I loved it.
