Bottle at home, after cellaring it for a bit over a year. Pours jet black with beige head. Nose is cocoa powder, milk chocolate, some sweet booze, perhaps a touch of herbs but it might be just me knowing there's aloe vera in there. Taste is cocoa powder, chocolate, booze, malts, fairly creamy all in all. Closes with a sweet finish, has an average, creamy body and soft carbonation. All in all a solid, but kinda uniteresting RIS with the supposed addition of aloe vera being rather subtle (ie barely noticable).

Bottle from Beerdome. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, some spicy/floral/herbal notes from the aloë vera, caramel, and liquorice. Flavour is above medium sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is a disappointing medium. Fairly decent and interesting, but a bit thin.

Bottle from Master of Malt. It pours black with a decent dark tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, toasted brown sugar, warming spice, umami, soy sauce, dark fruits, quite fragrant, chocolate cake and cookie slick, dough. The taste is dry, some bitterness, bitter - sweet, roasted malt, chocolate cake, umami, quite savoury, more umami, meaty, marmite, soy sauce, sticky BBQ ribs, spicy, fragrant, kind of green, herbal, charred action and limited alcohol presence. Finish is slick, roasty and meaty. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. An unusual concoction of flavours anyhow. Not bad.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Chocolate, soy sauce, weird spiciness, herbal note, sweet, umami, vegetable broth, a bit of bitterness, some alcohol. Kinda weird.

Bottled 24-08-18. Black, thin layer of brown foam. Smells a bit like double salted licorice. Nice thickness, but could be stickier. Taste is some licorice, a bit salty, llittle roasty. Some of the aloe vera shows, not bothering. Tasty but bit boring.

Bottle picked up from Biervana, München and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Tuesday 12th November 2019 listening to Steve Lamaqs evening session on 6Music, cooking Chicken and Broccoli Pasta. Pours black with a light tan head. Soft carbonation, the spiciness is perhaps a little bit too much but it is still a good beer. This drinks far easier than it should for such a high abv.

From a Molen packet as thanks for volunteering at the Borefts Beer Festival. This already from last year's. Pours a pitch black colour and a light brown head that almost immediately disappears. Aroma's: roasted malts, umami, sweetish. Retronasal there's also something fruity and something light typical, which is possibly the aloe, but is could also have been nuts or so. Flavour is moderate sweet, a bit roasted, light umami, nutty. Medium bodied. Ling finish with no new flavour.

Bottle. Black. Chocolate, roast, licorice and some herbal, floral notes in the aroma and flavor Must be the aloe vera. Some dried fruit. Not too sweet, even a bit on the thin side. Tea in the finish. Nice, but not the best Molen RIS.
