BARREL-AGED BARLEYWINE

Fremont Brewing began as a dream in 2008. Years later, our dream has come true in each and every one of you, our craft beer family. And like every family, we have had our ups and our downs, but we keep coming back together knowing we are stronger together. In your hands is a special nod to you, a gift for now that will continue to give many years from now should you have the patience to wait…Brew 7000. This English-style barleywine ale uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops, and is aged in 10-15 year-old, single use bourbon barrels for 16 months to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 7000th brew, and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. “Barleywine Is Life.” – VWP

Down & Dirty: Maris Otter Pale and Carafa 2 Special malts with White Wheat and Magnum and US Goldings hops.

Draught at Ale Arsenal. Pours inky black with no head except a small collar of brown, intermittent bubbles around the collar. Beautiful sweetness on boozy barrel on the aroma. Flavor follows suit with a rich bread, dark fruit and candi aspect. Cloying sweetness plays well. Great beer.

Bottle split at the 2nd CBJ tasting, thanks to Danny 31/08/23. Light black with a tan cap that clears edgewards. Nose is toffee, bourbon, fruit cake, dates, sticky dark fruit rinds, molasses. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, sticky toffee pudding, light chocolate, dates, bourbon barrel, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid BA life.

Bottle shared at CBJ. Cheers to Dan. Pours deep ruby with a creamy, off-white head. Big sweet flavour, super rich, loads of berries, toffee, figs, booze, vanilla. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet and warming finish, sticky. Delicious.

Craft Beer Junction bottleshare. Thanks to Dan the Man. A light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, quite light, decent fine carbonation. Smooth light malts, thin creamy sweetness. Good fruity bourbon, a little spicy, goes well with the malts. Finishes semi dry and spicy. Nothing unusual here but just so well put together.
