330ml bottle delivered from the Salmon, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brown, slightly translucent with a thin ring od khaki head. Chocolate malt is strong in the aroma, with touches of coffee and cinnamon. Sweet taste with big malt to the fore and a lively balanced finish with blackberry and espresso in the aftertaste. Only real let down is the mouthfeel: the body is far too watery. Pretty good stuff.

Creamy light brown head stayed on a mahogany coloured still body. Malt, bitter & roasted aroma. Medium bodied, tingly with a dry back. Malt, demerara, marshmallow, roasted & nutty tastes. Tremendous Porter

Cask. Poursxa dark brown with light head. Aromas and flavors of nutty roasted malts. A bit dusty. Pretty much what one would expect of a pub porter.

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a short and slightly tanned foamy head. Earthy, roasted malty aroma with notes of freshly ground coffee and dark chocolate. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet and also tart flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Earthy and moderately roasted malty base with notes of coffee, burnt caramel and dark chocolate; moderately roast-malty and slightly leathery tart finish. Good! 13.IX.17

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Gryphon, Bristol 2/9/2017. Dark brown in colour, with a thin, beige, head. A pleasant porter, with plum fruits, toasty malts some plain chocolate and a touch of dryness in the finish.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 20 April 2017) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made porter. Nice one.
