Tap @Skaal, Cph. Black, no head. Cocoa, vanilla, choc aroma. Bitter coffee and chocolate flavour, some spices, vanilla and warming alc. Slightly sticky, good.

Solid powerful beer. Excellent in the autumn storm. Heavy black pour and a fine beige head. Ok lacing. Looks good. Fine intensity in the aroma. Balanced sweetness and a fine gentle carbonation level. Pleasant to drink. Dark malt, chocolate, toffee, fruity, wood and some spices in the flavor. [Bottle from Vinmonopolet at Amfi Borg in Sarpsborg, Norway]

0,5 flaske, hjemme: brunsvart med kortvarig bruseskum. Nydelig aroma og forførende smak med mørke marcipanchokolader, kakao, vanilje, marinerte svisker og fiken, nytraktet kaffe med en skvett Bailey's. De 50 IBU oppleves som tilbakeholdne. Myk og innsmigrende munnfølelse, og alkoholen varmer kropp og sjel. Håper vi får et gjensyn med denne i november!

Bottle @ home. Pitch black body under a small, dark beige head. Strong aroma, dark malt, dark malt, coffee, almond, dark fruit and alcohol. Taste is very sweet dark malt, caramel, chocolate, dry fruit, almond, coffee, hint of wood, spices, nice bitterness, and alcohol. Full bodied with long lasting aftertaste. Fine, tasty pastry stout with complexity, still it ends up a bit too sweet for me. This should probably have been shared with at least one more.

YG Black color with no head. Aroma is alcohol, coffee, berries, spices, vanilla. Flavor is alcohol, coffee, berries, spices, vanilla, pine, licorice, soy sauce, sugar, roasted malt, coffee. Very nice beer.

Bottle. A minimalistic and very short lived super-dark brown head foms on top of a really dark brown body. The aroma is quite intense, with alcohol, licorice, spices, coffee and a touch of sour berries. Hints of soy sauce and dark chocolate, brown sugar and something woody, foresty. It's full-bodied, sweet, warming and quite oily on the palate, a bit heavily carbonated. Sweet, sugary flavor with roasted malts, coffee, licorice, soy sauce and some notes of dark dried fruit, spices, chocolate and sour berries. Some oak and cellar too, light oxidation feel. Lasting sweet finish with lots of flavor. Quite delicious this one, but a bit too intense, but that of course makes it a great beer to share. 240124

500ml bottle, batch nr. 2607(?), picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. The noisy pour reveals a deep jet black body, a fast diminishing tan head, and pool lacing. Prominent aromas of spiced berry-fruits and chocolate malts. Powerful taste character with moments of dark chocolate, herbs and berry-fruits joined by a distant coffee vibe. Waring, long-lived ending, with a smoothly roasted malt-berry twist. Vinous impression. Heavy stuff that has got slow sipper qualities, but gets too sweet in the long run. A bottle of this one should be shared. Overall; again an interesting brew from Nøgne Ø, but a bit over the top. (Tromsø, 28.12.2023).

On tap @Sjoboden (Bergen). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino media, mediamente persistente. Al naso note di malti tostati, caffè, cioccolato fondente, vaniglia, legno, cannella, liquirizia, spezie. In bocca è dolce all'attacco, speziata, con note di caffè e cioccolato, amaro medio in chiusura. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Molto buona e ben fatta.
