Cheers Mat for sharing the 37.5cl bottle (BB Feb 2023) with us at the monthly meeting of the Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group, on 29th May 2018 in Chez Sophie. Slight haze to the very dark body, off-white crown of foam on top. Roasted/toasted malts in the nose, same in the flavour with a chocolate taste mid-sip. Boozy and pleasant, liked it.

375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 18. Brought by me, thanks Shivandragon for this. Pours dark hazed, off white pale tan head, aroma has some pine, dark malt. Taste is moderately rich in character, dark malt, grainy, chocolate, pine, coming together exceptional well. Very enjoyable.

Bottle @ home. Deep dark brown (almost black) color. Light beige head with little retention. Aroma's: caramel malt, skunky hops, fruit. Retronasal it's herbal hops, herbs, malty sweet, bitterish. Flavor is light moderate sweet with quite some bitterness. Alcohol feel is strong, warming. Above medium bodied. Long finish, moderate bitter.

Still out on the roof with the outlaw/rebel country on shuffle. Bottle. Too dark too see. Sweet roasted/toasted malts, caramel, hop, dried fruits, custard, old leaves, leather, almond milk, light tobacco, barley booze. Big sweet and an overpowering dry bitterness. Full body and soft carbonation. Bit plain in comparison to the stouts de Moersleutel does so well, but it's also not my favorite style of beer.

Bottle at Gekke Geit. Hazy dark brown with light brown head. Caramel, light bready, a bit of hops and citrus, rye, brown sugar, soft alcohol. Medium sweet and bitter, light sour. Medium bodied. Bland and a bit weird, not their best by far. Meh.

Bottle shared at Gekke Geit. Dark brown with a ring tan head. Light aroma of caramel, dark fruits and alcohol. Flavour is above moderate sweet. Fairly thin bodied for the style with light carbonation.

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, no head. Taste: Roasted malt, moderate sweet, moderate bitter, boozy, notes of caramel and hints of nuts and herbs. Boozy finish, bit warming mouthfeel. Above medium body, below average carbonation. OK, but not one of the best Moersleutels in my opinion, maybe this beer needs some more aging in the bottle.

Tanks! Sampled draft @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Black with very dark brown hue with zero head. Nose is sweet flat one-note date, sugar, exotic sugar,… Taste is this weird BE phenolic boozy flat date sugar, plastic, almost oxidized mess,.. Thick BE phenolic sugar syrup, weak carbonation. Totally not my thing, weird BE-styled boost sauce.
