Draught at Cafe Beaubourg, 4/19/15, as just "St. Omer"
Sparkingly clear light blonde body is topped by a large but mostly diminishing white head.
Not much in the nose, light minerals, soda water, bits of dusty and grassy hops with just a pinch of biscuit-like maltiness. No sweetness. No alcohol, or flaws either, though.....
Clean and crisp in flavor, despite the relative lack of much going on here, it was very dry, with no stale syrup or waxiness/paper, or the million other things that ruin these indusrial style pale lagers. I really quite enjoyed it, though we’d walked quite a bit, it was my first beer of the trip, it was quite hot, and I like pale lagers....so take my rating with a grain of salt.

0,25L bottle. Pours golden with white head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is sweet, sugar, maize, citrus, hints of something nasty. Flavor is sweet, malt, maize, citrus. Finish is maize and citrus. Overall: nasty brew.

Can. Pale yellow with small white foamy head that dissipates fast, yeast aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish taste, abrupt finish. Another generic lager.

On 13th Nov 2013 I had a little lager/pilsner tasting session with the wife: two French, a UK brewed Budweiser and two other ’craft’ UK lagers. This green dumpy 25cl bottle was the second one. Poured into a Veltins badged stemmed tulip it looked a bit pale: pale golden that is, clear and clean with a small fading white head. More hop than malt in a weak nose and taste: some grain and grass notes but a really bland effort. Cheap supermarket brew and it showed, I preferred it’s weak 2.8% ABV brother I had before this: only just better than the UK brewed Bud (which was next).
