Here at BrewDog, we love the hidden tracks; the unexpected discoveries. The B-Sides.

Take our 10HL pilot kit. It is the place our brewers let those imaginations fly and lay down unpredictable, creative tracks. Our brew team use it to dial in our small-scale experimental brews, each then finding its way to our bars as a draught-only special release.

However, we felt the naming convention used previously – Pilot Brew XXX – didn't fully reflected the ingenuity displayed by our brewers. To depict this a little better we now release each pilot brew as a bona fide B-Side; alongside our production-batch launches that take place at our bars, you’ll be able to discover a flip side in the form of one of our B-Side releases.

(Draught at BrewDog Camden, London, 20 April 2016) Pale amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of biscuits, citrus, resin and fresh hops. Malty, hoppy taste with citrus, grapefruit, resin, biscuits and a balanced resiny, slightly metallic bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, mainly dry. A bit generic, but tasty and well made. Nice one.

Brewdog Clerkenwell. Keg. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is very light and has modest fine carbonation. Very light malts bring an equally light sweetness. Hops are modestly skunky and piney. Touch of fruits salad before a light finish and mild bitter linger. Light but tasty.

Keg at BD Clerko. BrewDog rate 300!! It pours clear golden amber with a decent white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, stewed orange, peach, bubblegum, candied peel, peach and muffin. The taste is crisp, bitter - sweet, grassy, dank, herbal, orange muffin, pine needles, orange soda with a dry, grassy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough, without being a game changer.

Keg at BD Clerko, 11/02/16. Clear golden with a decent off white covering that dissipates to edgeing. Nose is caramel, candied fruit peel, grain, sticky tropical fruits, leafy hops. Taste comprises pine needle, bitter orange, mango, dank hop strokes, melon, bready notes, bubblegum. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light dank hop bitterness in the close. Decent.
