October 2020: 330 ml can, from the brewery. ABV is 6.5%. Pink to red colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of black chokeberries, lactic acid, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sour flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Hard to detect the carrots and the ginger, they are probably overshadowed by the chokeberries and the lactic acid. Not really my cup of tea.

GY 011120. Red golden color with a white head. Aroma is berries, spices. Flavor is lactose, aronia, berries, cake, spices, vanilla, lemon. Weird beer.

Can. A clear red beer with an orange hue and a small white head. The aroma has a good dash of nutmeg and cinnamon, some berries and vanilla and a cake-ish sweetish touch. It's quite tart on the palate, nicely carbonated, with a decent body. Spiced, lemon-sour, lactose-sweet flavor with berries and a wee carrot touch. Not sure I'd think of carrots if I didn't look at the can. Long sour-dominated finish. An interesting experiment, but the drinkability on this one is rather low. 201101

0,33 boks fra VP Straensenteret, hjemme: nesten helt klar, vakker rubinrød med kort bruseskum. Tydelig aroma av aronia (ikke lenge siden jeg lagde aroniasyltetøy, så den aromaen husker jeg) og søtlige gulrøtter. Den velkomponerte krydderblandingen av muskat, kanel, vaniljestang og ingefær kjenner jeg også, særlig kanel og vanilje. Smaken følger opp disse inntrykkene med høy friskhet, lav bitterhet og deilig ettersmak. Et spennende øl fra Rygr!

Can. Slightly unclear reddish orange body with a thin pink head. Aroma has acidic, red berries with hint of minerals and yoghurt. Taste is refreshing sweet and sour berries like lemon, cherry, raspberries, strawberries and black currants (I have never tasted Aronia berries). The taste feels like a combo of juice from real berries and the sour candy version, that might have something to do with the sweet and sour flavor. No carrot detected whatsoever, just a s a placebo effect! Medium body with a tard, bone dry, acidic aftertaste. Refreshing and kinda something new but frankly rather one-dimensional and not very interesting besides the refreshing part. At least there where no yoghurt taste here.

7-4-6-4-13 Can, #127, eleven months before bbd. Pours hazy red, with a big, reddish head. Aroma is lactic acid, dark berries and earthy spices, as well as musty fruit peel and earthy minerals. Medium body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is lactic, with hay, tart fruity notes and earthy spices, as well as fizzy candy, fruit pits and minerals. Pretty funny...
