IPA by this new microbrewery in this Hainaut village north of Charleroi, thanks tderoeck for the can, shared with Steve. Huge and foamy, snow white, large-bubbled, plastery-lacing head, hazy ochre-tinged yellow blonde robe. Aroma of lemongrass, green mango, pomelo zest, light papaya, fresh dough, pepino, melon, pineapple. Crisp onset, clean and focused but also fizzy, a bit much so even for the intended style; low in sweetness, with some unripe green pear and unripe green banana notes, over a doughy core soaked in green-fruity and citric hops, with lime blossom, green melon and lemongrass effects as well as a lingering peppery bitterishness in the end. Lacks a bit of expression to be truly eye-catching as a NEIPA, in fact even reminiscent of its forgotten predecessor the East Coast IPA, but on a more ‘basic’ level, very well executed as a kind of ‘daily’ IPA in general.

9/VIII/24 - 44cl can from the brewery, shared @ home, BBQ with Seb, Maria, Nathan & Anke, BB: XII/24, lot 064 (2024-718)
Cloudy pale blond to light yellow beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely, pretty fruity, zesty, citrus, floral notes, nice! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: zesty, fruity, juicy, a bit sweet, dank, hoppy, resinous. Aftertaste: good bitterness, zesty, quite some grapefruit, juicy, good bitterness. Decent, but it was way better 3 weeks ago fresh from the tap at the brewery! I didn’t take any notes then though, so I’ve upped my scores a bit.
