Imperial Ale is a top-fermented beer with a rich flavour bouquet. There is a perfect balance between the delicious bitter taste of hops and the sweetness of malt. The copper colour that characterizes the best ales adds a respectability referring to its imperial past.

Bottle. A crystal clear dark golden beer with a small, dense, white head. The aroma is quite grainy and sweetish, with grass and pine cone notes. Some cooked vegetables. It’s medium bodied and with a very soft carbonation. Some glue hints in the flavor, it’s sweet and corn-ish, with a resiny, grassy touch. Lasting finish. Rather boring this one, and in my opinion it’s not very good either. 150418

A light copper beer with a weak and blond head. Aroma is very mild, malts and some unspecified fruitness. Taste has bready malts, some fruits, hint of nuts, no bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, quite smooth. Very careful beer but pure, anyway. More courage would be needed, now too easily to forgetten.

400ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a small head that fizzes away rapidly. Sweet aroma of fruit and caramel. Taste is sweet and malty. Better than I expected.

Bottled 400ml. -from Interspar Brežice. Golden coloured, small white head, buttery caramel nose. Sweetish malty, light fruity and yeasty with dusty and slight bitter finish. Just like Yves from Visibaba said: diluted Leffe Blond.

Bottle, 0.40l. Clear amber color with thin frothy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of cereals, caramel, raisins, wine marc and grassy hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet grainy and caramelly malt, following is slightly honeyish with fruity and grassy acidity, mild spicy mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Pretty average brew, still can’t cope with majority of good ales...

Ogi’s, from a Spar in Brežice, Slovenia, thanks! 0.4l, because 0.5l wouldn’t be as premium. Fuck... after the Imperial Märzen, I was a little afraid to try this. Though, obviously irrationally, I mean, having 2 glasses of coloured water in a row wouldn’t technically poison me, right? And it looks similar in the glass to boost - a clear golden-amber body, nice enough, with a small head. Aroma... well, this is hardly English, now is it? Dust, cloves, sweetish light malts, vague apple. Like some random macro trying to do a Belgi... oh wait, that’s exactly what had happened. Taste? It tastes EXACTLY like the aroma + vague caramel, so, basically, exactly like a diluted Leffe Blond. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, heck, it’s 20 times more interesting than the Imperial Märzen (so’s mineral water, but bear with me). This is OK enough - if a local macro did it and it was available readily everywhere @ a passable price, I’d have it over the regular lagers.... So there you go. You can do much worse than this, you can do much better than this... oh fuck... I already said that for a beer today.

Pours a clear amber color, topped with a small white head. There is a nice malty aroma complemented by some spices. Also a little alcohol aroma present. The taste is very sweet and malt, but not in the unpleasant way. Nicely drinkable and smooth.

Bottle 0,5 lt. Pours a very clear amber color, creamy minimal foamy head which stays tick for just a little while. Nose: initial fresh and grassy hops notes, caramel, amber malts, yeast. Mouth: low carbonation, dust feel, a bit of yeast but sadly some metal in the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 5.0%. Sweetish and malty aroma. Clear copper colour. Very small white head. The flavour is yeasty, sugary, and quite dusty. Tastes like Trappist yeast. Like a monks’ every day beer.
