500ml bottle. Pours a dark brown amber colour, foam tan head and malt aroma. Tastes malty with oak, dark fruit & nutty notes plus some slightly roasted bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dryish finish. Quite OK.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with malty and fruity notes and touches of nuts. Lingering, bitter aftertaste. Nice, especially on an autumn evening.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Clear brown to copper colour, moderate white head. Malty aroma with notes of toffee, caramel and nuts, hints of over-ripe fruits. The flavour is also malty but not very sweet, some fruity notes, hints of oak, nuts and caramel, fairly bitter and slightly roasty finish. More "contemporary" in style than Traquair House Ale and Jacobite Ale, but this one is also a fine beer.

Amber brown...clear...thin white head...no lacing..dissipates to rim
Aroma - light sweet caramel malts..hint of hops..some raisin fruit notes
Taste - Caramel malts...some biscuit...bit of toffee..light raisin...some bitter spicy hops....well blended...but too subtle for 5%
Palate - soft carb...smooth. Finish as main flavour...slight bitternes...clean finish...a bit dull
Overall - seems like a lower abv, milder version of the House Ale...its nicely made but a bit dull...not up to heights of the Jacobite or House Ales

Bottle from the Good Wine shop, Kew. It pours clear mahogany brown, with a decent beige head. The nose is freshly baked brown bread, wood, chocolate and caramel. The taste is wood, leather, chocolate, dark fruits, touch of spice, salted caramel and smoke, with a long dry finish. Medium and moderate carbonation. Good, but not up to the high quality of other Traquair brews.
