Litt ung ennå. Har potensiale, men er fremdeles temmelig skarp i kantene.

Bottle, at Duggfrisk. It pours an almost clear body, chestnut in color, with a minimal-sized beige head. It's slightly oxidized on the nose, with a faint roasted malt touch, some leather, and bread and caramel. Alcohol and some of the cognac shines through. It's full-bodied with a rather low carbonation level. Some warmth, but not much, especially considering the ABV. There's a decent bitterness in the mouth, dealing with the sweetness. Caramel, bread and dried fruits, prunes mostly, some raisin, as well as roasted malts, oxidation hints, leather and perhaps a wee touch of molasses. Lasting malt-driven finish. A very fine brew indeed. Not in the same league as Thomas Hardy's Ale, but sure nice. 170819

02.09.2017, 0,5l bottle sampled @ Bergen Ølfestival:
No head, just some bubbles. Aroma is slightly sweet mineraly, weeds, oak, cognac, caramel malts, hay, sap, grass, toast, toffee, minerals, old rope, roasted nuts, almonds. Taste is slightly sweet, caramel malts, minerals, oak, cognac, butterscotch, grass, toffee, weeds, hay, toast, nuts, paper. Medium bitterness, slightly dry boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough. Probably a bit too fresh at the moment...

500 ml bottle, as Bryggerhuset / Bache-Gabrielsen Collaboration Series Barley Wine. Batch #01, ABV is 13,6%. Only 1600 bottles made. Available at Cardinal Pub
& Bar, Stavanger. Murky brown colour, hardly any head. Aroma of fusel, alcohol, molasses, oak, caramel. Minimal carbonation. The flavour is sweet and alcoholic, with loads of molasses and oak, also fusel. Cognac and some hops in the finish. Not my cup of tea. Might be better with a few years' cellaring.

Superficial festival at Duggfrisk 2017. Clear, dark amber body with a small beige head. Strong, almost intense aroma of sweet, dark malt, lots of dry fruit, caramel and vinous, warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit like raisins and prunes, moderate bitterness and warming alcohol. Full bodied and long lasting strong aftertaste in the same direction. Very nice, looking forward to try a bottle properly.
