Gouden Carolus Indulgence is a series of limited beers that are released annually with varying content.
Margaretha, the 10th taste expression under this label, is a dark beer of 8.5% vol. whose essence revolves around the delicate balance between sour and sweet.
By combining dark and Flemish red brown beer, we create a unique taste combination in which dark chocolate and ripe fruit go together with a subtly sour aftertaste. After months of maturing on cherries, we achieve extra depth of taste.
With this anniversary edition, we not only celebrate a milestone, but we also bring color and taste together in a masterful harmony.

Off-white thick rim over opaque red-brown beer. Sweet (cooked) cherries' nose, neuzekes, but also Mon Chéri. Faint woody notes as well. Sweet cherries (' compote) as for gehaktbrood met krieken . There is a counterbalance by a fine smokiness and a fleeting fruitacidity ("now you see me, now you don't"). Hint at cinnamon. Good carbonation, almost refreshing. Medium bodied. OK - but this could have been so much more.

Arôme est frais cerise noir leger sour chocolaté caramel.
Palais offre une excellent balance sour cerise bière plus un apport malté de la bière de quadruple? Mélange de deux bières coupée avec des cerises. Xh3rry pit avec ménage entre douceur 3t aigreur.
Pointe de vinaigre balance pas mal avec le malt. Belle collab avec les classiques de flemish red verhaeghe

0.75 l bottle from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before December 2027. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish, quite vinous-fruity aroma of red wine, balsamic vinegar, bitter almond, caramel, oak and sour cherry. Gently sweet, malty, moderately sour, rather vinous-fruity taste of red wine, quite some oak, balsamic vinegar, sour cherry, balsamic vinegar and some caramel, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, gently woody-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Tasty sour ale, very well-balanced and quite complex. I have given up buying the Indulgence series beers a few years ago but this one was a lot more intriguing than the releases of the recent years, and it didn't disappoint.

Mörkt rudbrun vätska med tunn skumslöja. Aromer av körsbär, källartrapp och torkade dadlar. Hög inledande maltsötma som balanseras av en fruktig och lätt bitsk syra. Allt avslutas av en källartrappig brettjäsig beska. Mycket värmande med en fyllig munkänsla och lång eftersmak.

Thanks omhper! Deep copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is floral, some acidic and mild almond tones to it. Flavour is glögg (Glühwein). Flavour is acidic, almond and some dried fruits and mild wooden tones to it. Pleasant. Actually, lovely!

0.75l bottle, huge thanks Fin for sharing with us! Shiny cola dark amber-red body, not much head. Caramel and cherries in the aroma, soft. Soft taste, tart, minerally, caramelly, with a good sour cherry presence, warming finish. Pretty clean, low on funk but quite pleasant take at the style!
