Bottle, online from Trembling Madness. Pours clear yellow gold with a tight white head. Aroma: grainy malts, biscuit, light vegetal. Taste: light sweet & bitter, grains, pale bread, hay. Light to medium body with fine carbonation. Every other beer in Austria seems to be labelled as a marzen.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours crystal clear yellow with a modest, creamy pure white head. Very basic, lightly skunky, some vegetal notes, pale bread, biscuits, a little hay, modest sweetness. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Faint papery notes in the finish, cabbage, hay, pale bread. Quite simple but drinkable enough.

Klar und hellgoldgelb liegt es im Glas. Obenauf eine weiße feinporige, sehr stabile und sehr gut haltbare Schaumkrone, die von einer feinen Perlage genährt wird. Der Duft gibt sich deutlich grasig hopfenbetont mit einem leichten Anklang getreidiger Mälze. Sehr frisch und angenehm weich spritzig im Antrunk. Im Übergang zum Mittelteil vernimmt man bereits leicht süßliches getreidiges Malzaroma, zudem sich langsam eine leichte Heunote des Hopfens hinzugesellt. Grundsätzlich überhaupt nicht spektakulär oder herausfordernd, jedoch absolut ausgewogen, rund, angenehm vollmundig und sehr süffig. Im Abgang kommt die Rezenz nochmal ein wenig auf, aber die zeigt sich weich und angenehm. Die malzigen Aromen halten lange an und eine dezente Hopfenherbe schwingt hintergründig mit. Ein gutes österreichisches Märzen, welches eigentlich den Charakter eines guten klassischen bayerischen Hellen hat.

0,5 l bottle from Getränke Rücker, Lengerich. Clear dark golden in the glass with a more than one finger foamy white head. Musty grainy smell. Tastes grainy, short metallic sequence, increasing caramel with some sweetness. Getting more pleasant in the second part. Below average carbonated.

Pours pale blonde, cristal clear. Looks more like a pils, than a marzen. Green bottle, and indeed this beer is extremely skunky. it overpowers all other features, so no traces of those malty features that can make a marzen so good. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, skunked ( very much so ) light pale maltyness ( white bread ) underneath. No traces of the typical characteristics forn a marzen. Would be interested in re-visiting this if they'd have the respect not to **** up their own beer by botteling in green glassware.

Bottle at 5.1% ABV. Clear gold. Moderate white head. Aroma: grainy malt, spicy hop, light skunk and paper. Ligh to medium body. Average carbonation. Taste: clean malts, bit bready, spicy hop. Light minus bitterness. Quite a basic European pale lager. In Austria they use the word 'märzen' in their very special way.

Bottle at Hotel and Hotel Alpenhof Kristall, Mayrhofen, Sunday 18th August 2019, in the company of Mum and Keith on a gloriously sunny day. Pours light gold, great clarity with a large white head. The maltiness shows just a little, there is a little hoppiness also. Fruity, it's ok.

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga. 5,1% ABV.
