In a 21st century tribute to the ancient London tradition of blending stock and young ales, we then carefully blended it with a fresh & hoppy batch of specially brewed Black Ale, adding a burst of blackcurrant and citrus to this complex Imperial Brown.

An unusual but engaging combination of tastes. A slightly sour, acidic nose featuring licorice and dark malt leads into a classic Abstrakt taste profile, filled with dark and rich tastes. Licorice, dark berries, ripe cherries, woodiness and rum or port blend with hazel nuts and chocolate. Slightly more carbonation than most Abstrakts. Complex and well blended.

Old rating from 20-11-16 - A 375ml bottle from Love Wines, Jersey. Bottled on 12/12/14, bottle n° 8408/12100 ABV 11.8 It pours a dark brown almost black colour with a small beige head. Aromas of black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, dark cherries, vanilla & alcohol. Tastes is moderate to heavy sweet with flavours of black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, raisins, cherries, berries & fruits. The alcohol is present in the sweet dark coffee/chocolate/cherry finish. Overall a reasonable beer as a one off, to be treated more like a wine

Bottle tasted December 2018. Unclear dark brown body without any head. Strong aroma, mostly of dry fruit and soy souse. Flavor is uber sweet dark malt, soy and alcohol. Full body and sticky sweet and boozy aftertaste. Raw and not very elegant at all. Way too sweet.

Bottle from I don't remember anymore. Years in archive took its toll and carbonation is gone. Now it's like a wine, or sherry more likely. Plums, dark chocolate, forest fruits and smoked notes. Still very good but I've missed the spot it feels
