0.33l bottle many thanks to Lore. Dark brown body with a light brown head. Aroma and taste of caramel, toffee, raisins, orange zest and a tiny bit of roasted malts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Very nice.

Dark brown colour, moderate sized dense beige-ish ecru head; aroma and taste of prune, dried sour cherry, soy sauce, some coffee and ash notes; not bad at all

Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, slightly dark malty, minimally woody and yeasty fruity, notes of caramel, some toffee, a touch of malt lozenge, wood, dried fruit, apple, Calvados, Cognac, a minimally musty, woody touch; lingering, sweet-ish, malty finish with a minimally alcoholic touch and lighter, cleaner fruitiness.

Bottle. A hazy dark brown beer with a small beige head. Rich malty aroma with toffee, nuts, chocolate, alcohol, roasted malts and some dark dried fruit. It's full-bodied, lightly warming, sweet and lightly roasted with a pleasant carbonation. Roasted malts, dark dried fruit, chocolate, nuts and toffee in the flavor. Some bitterness. Lasting finish with lots of malty flavors. Nice indeed. 241224

Tap at Napalmě, huge thanks S&A! Pitch black body, off-white head. Sharp aroma, raisins from the barrel, chocolate. Lean, dry taste, raisins, leathery, caramel, vague chocolote, excessively dry in my book, feels a bit rough and hard to drink. Otherwise fine, impressive.

375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 24. Thanks Mark for this one! Hazed dark brown appearance, good off-white head. Harmonious deep toffee, some toasted malts, calvados and cognac barrel aging leaves a gently sweet influence, soft nutty notes. Decent big flavoured doppelbock (or should that be tripelbock?!)

Monday 27th May 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys drinking beer and talking bollox. 375ml bottle from Mark. Off-white crust on a misty brown body. Brandy and caramel esters/flavours blend very nicely in this boozy little number, really enjoyed my fifth!

Draught@TCBW2023. Hazy deep brown colour with a mediumsized beige longlasting head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is cognac and some green apples with mild toffee, toast and some mild roasted and chocolaty tones. Flavour is chocolaty, roasted, some sweet alcohol tones with cognac sweetness as well as some green apple tartness and mild wood to it.
