We call it our session lager with good reason: light on the palate, subtly hopped, with a sweet, biscuity malt finish. The Hawkstone Session is not just easy-drinking, but it's also incredibly moreish.

Pilegrimsleden går alltid via The Wheatsheaf i Borough Market, og det er mange år siden den ble "changed beyond recognition". Fra fat: klar gylden med fint skum som varer. Brød/lys malt, mild citrus og like milde urter. Behagelig furunålsbitterhet i avslutningen. Balansert og lettdrikkelig.

On keg at Crown Inn, Marston Montgomery - clear yellow fizz with a short white head. Biscuity malts, a bit grassy, a tangy little hop finish. Easy going enough, but one is the max and move on.

[33cl bottle from my local Waitrose.] A straw coloured pour with a fast fading white head; sweet cereal grain aroma; crisp grainy taste with a touch of citrus; and a clean grassy bitterness to finish. Quite tasty, but just another lager.

Bottle from Cooperative Supermarket in Cromer, but drank well away from the town centre and its attractive pier. Golden with a small bubbly head. Easier than its sister brew but to be expected, but still maintains a fair body. Light lager malt lingers in the palate.

Keg at the Hawkstone taproom between Stow on The Wold and Bourton, 23/11/24. Clear golden yellow topped with a lasting white head, carbonation well evident on this one. Nose is mellow citric notes, grass, pale malts, toasted grains. Taste comprises pale malts, biscuit, breads, lemon nip, hedgerow, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy crushable logger-bier.
