Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Taste: Dark roasted malt, notes of toffee, chocolate, red fruit, raisins and plums. Nice hopbitterness, at some point towards the finish a fresh sourness comes in and fades away again. Bitter earthy long lasting finish with dry mouthfeel. Above medium body, below medium carbonation. Although not one of the best, it is a pretty nice imperial stout.

Bottle from Clapton Craft. It pours jet black with a thick dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, liquorice, cocoa, burnt notes, coffee grounds, light smoke and charred wood. The taste is pretty bitter, rich roasted malt, mild acidity, dark chocolate, charcoal, sticky dark fruit, treadle, ash, quite savoury, cracked black pepper and warming alcoholic with a dry, charred roast finish. Full body and fine and moderate carbonation. Pretty rich and robust. Decent, but n Doesn’t have the ideal balance for me.

The aroma holds ashy roast, tangy dark, dried berries, light sweet flavour with more dark berries, some ash, bitter coffee, oily chocolate, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further ashy roast, bitter dark chocolate, old leathery berries. Not bad.
