Continuing our recent series of Double Dry Hopped IPAs showcasing CY18 hops we selected at source in Yakima, this beer features modern powerhouse Citra alongside two longer-established varietals. Centennial and Chinook are more readily associated with classic West Coast styles but shine in this modern, juicy DDH IPA, providing bright citrus flavours alongside punchy resinous and earthy notes.

Aroma & Flavour: Juicy navel orange, sweet cantaloupe and zesty grapefruit, followed by resinous, earthy notes.
Body: Full and smooth, with soft carbonation
Aftertaste: Grapefruit zest alongside lingering earthy and resinous notes

Can from Struise Shop, Bruges. Pours cloudy yellow with a huge, slowly diminishing, frothy, white head. Aroma of dank lychee, pineapple, peach, onion, herbs, pine, grapefruit peel. Taste is sweet juicy peach, pineapple & papaya, some dank onion with a sourish touch, going over bitter pine, spices, kept together by doughy malts. Dry, floral & earthy hoppy finish, lingering yellow fruit, spicy pine, noticeable hop burn. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very assertive & tasty NEIPA-like.

(Draught at Cloudwater Taproom, Bermondsey, London, 27 July 2019) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, pine needles, resin and lemon peel. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, pine needles, pineapple and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made IPA, with a fresh hop character. Very nice.

Iets te bittere nasmaak voor een NEIPA. Verder weer een mooie Cloudwater. Binnenkort maar weer eens buurten daaro.
