500ml can from B&M - Deep russet brown, short lived white top. Nose is sweet caramel and malty, hints of chocolate and raisin there. Taste is sweetish, yeasty, malt loaf, bit watery for its ABV. Nothing special but not horrendous.

Creamy off white head stayed on a dark brown body. Malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with tickle down the throat. Malt, spiced, berry, caramel & toffee tastes. All a bit rough round the edges.

[50cl can from B&M, Festival Park, Hanley.] A rich peaty brown coloured pour with a thick cream head and a tawny glint in the light; aroma of yeast, red fruit and coffee; chocolatey taste to start, then some coffee, then brown sugar and malts; then a touch of spice and yeast to finish. A pleasant Double.

500ml can: BB 5th January 2023. Drank at home on 3rd December 2021. Dark brown body, full on lightly tanned head. Malty, peaty and slightly smoky aroma and taste. Not quite like a Bamberg Rauch Bier, but it is leaning that way; an interesting beer and a whole lot better than it's stable mate, the Monastère Bière Blonde.

Can picked up from a supermarket in Greece and consumed onboard Olympic Champion Anek Lines Ferry from Patras Greece to Venice Italy, Saturday 11th September 2021. Pours dark brown with an off white head, a little bit of dark brown sugar, smooth, sweet, caramel but really little else going on here. Mouthfeel and carbonation is ok.

Bottle corked & caged 75 cl. Pours a deep brown with a burgundy hue and a beige head. Medium body, subtle roast, dark rock sugar and some dark, dried fruit. Maybe a hint of cork, but nothing too serious. BB 17.12.19 241220
