Draught@TCBW2023, Amazing, one of the styles I really like, but rarely come around. Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is toasted malts, some alcohol sweetness, mild fruity tones with a bit of nutty and caramel tones too. Flavour is pretty much the same elements as in the aroma, but blending together really well. Flavour also hides the alcohol really well. Smooth and nice!

Bottle, 9% according to the label. Color: Very dark ruby, frothy beige head. Aroma: Caramel malt, wood, some hop. Taste: Sweet, malty, caramel, oak wood. Starting medium sweet and moderate bitter, getting more bitter towards and at the finish. Very bitter but also sweet, caramel malt and strong oak wood finish. Oak tannins, dry-ish and bit sticky mouthfeel. Hints of very bitter chocolate. Over medium body, just under average carbonation. Nice one, although definitely not as good as the Uerige Doppel Sticke. The oak wood could have been a bit less pronounced in my opinion.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of candied banana, prune, raisin, pear, cake, butterscotch. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramel & brioche supplemented by quite fruity notes of dried banana, raisin & sugared apple ('Pomme d'Amour'), touch of green tea, a tad nutty & toasty. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, bitter, more toast & nuts, less caramel but still there. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Surprising in the finish, but lends it an edgy character.

330ml bottle (2019, 9%) from Silpo in Kyiv. Pours dark brown with a tall light brown head. Aroma is wood, malt, caramel, dried fruits. Taste is malt, oak, caramel. Quite a heavy bitter finish, seemed out of character for the style.

2019 bottle at 9.0% ABV. Pours misty chestnut brown with a large beige head. Nose: rich malts, esters, nuts. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Taste: toast, caramel, nuts, light fruit esters, dried fruit, solid ending bitterness. A bit too harsh I would say. Otherwise very decent.
