Going back more than a century to Victorian England, many pub-goers ate oysters on the half shell while sipping their favourite stouts. We've taken that pairing up a notch by brewing with 100 fresh oysters to create a stout that is rich, roasty and decadent.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate. Some mild roast in the dark malts. Tangy cocoa chocolate. Modest dark fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Lot less Oyster tang than I was expecting, thankfully!

Cask at GBBF. It pours hazy deep brown - black with a small beige head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, sticky, fruity, savoury, umami, plum pudding, salty edge, jam and charred wood. The taste is bitter, dry, rich roasted malt, umami, charred wood, ashy, salty, earth, rather savoury and cacao nibs. Finish is drying and toasty. Plenty of umami. Interesting stuff.
