This barrel-aged blend of Speedway Stout and Beer Geek Vanilla Shake has been aged in premium bourbon barrels with the addition of locally roasted coffee and three varieties of vanilla beans. Can from Beer Shop Alban's and latterly on tap at BrewDog Castlegate. It pours oily jet black with a small dark tan - brown head. The aroma is heady notes of vanilla, vanilla yoghurt, marshmallow, gooey meringue, tunnocks teacake, wagon wheel, chocolate bourbons, gateaux, dark roasted malt, rich coffee character, praline, burnt toffee and bourbon soaked oak. The taste is slick, oily, quite thick, plenty of vanilla, toasted marshmallow, Italian meringue, tunnocks tea cakes, tunnocks snowballs, pleasing bourbon character, toffee, pecan pie, boozey warmth, some bitterness, loads of coffee character, chocolate covered coffee beans, bourbon aged coffee and a nip of spice with a warming, roasty vanilla finish.fukl body, average but prickly carbonation and slick mouth feel. The vanilla level is quite intense but is just about kept in check by the coffee, booze and bourbon. Silly, but enjoyable.

473mL can. Pours nearly black with small tan head. Aroma has smooth bourbon, lots of vanilla, chocolate. Flavour has tons of dark chocolate and vanilla, really nice bourbon finish, boozy warmth. Vanilla beans have excellent, strong expression, combined with the heat from the bourbon barrels is delicious.

16 oz. can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is very rich, with intense vanilla, huge bourbon, some coffee beans, and dark cocoa. Flavour is wonderfully rich, with intense vanilla beans upfront, followed by intense bourbon barrels, followed by the espresso. Wonderfully integrated. Despite the intensity of the vanilla beans, they come across elegantly, with remarkable depth. Beauty.

Tap at Alesmith tasting, Bratislava. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of nougat, chocolate, vanilla, dark malt, bourbon, roasted malt. Taste is nougat, vanilla, tons of vanilla, Bourbon, light roasted notes.

Can at Speedway Tasting. Full body, med-light carbonation. Very high sweetness, med-high bitterness. Medium warmth, no burn, ABV hidden well. High vanilla, med-high ice cream feeling, this is dominant. Also high chocolate though, this one is more chocolatey, with only med-light coffeeish roast. Med-light bourbon and wood, the barrels are pretty well hidden here. Overall quite good, but not exactly my type of beer, too sweet and pastryish.

Can at SpeedWay tasting. Malty aroma and taste, light roastyness, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon barrel wooden notes, medium to high bitter, light to medium sweet. Full body, malty choco and vanilla bitter sweet finish with warming alcohol notes. Good.

Pours black, no head. Scent is full, vanilla, creamy and intense. Chocolate. Very mild coffee. Taste is full, roasty, sweet, chocolate. Loads of vanilla. pastry focussed for sure, but not at all bad indeed !
