To mark moving into the new brewhouse in 2015 Head brewer Phill decided to make a stronger, more hoppy version of our standard bitter; Milestone. To fit the occasion we called the beer Landmark.

Landmark is our best-selling beer in both cask and bottle formats & is also the house beer at a number of pubs and restaurants including the Plas Hafod just down the road from the original brewery.

The label uses an old map of north Wales & Merseyside railway lines.

Cask at The Albion, Conwy. Clear chestnut. Thick foamy off-white head. Aroma has grains, chewy malts.. develops tangy berry sourness. Flavourwise it's initially tangy. Followed by chewybmalts before a veg element seeps through. Light-medium bodied..Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Pleasent but ultimately a twiggy bitter.

500ml bottle direct from the brewery and drunk at home. Ruddy brown and clear with a ring of off-white head. Light oaky notes in the aroma, some toffee and citrus zest. Bittersweet taste with a delicious tang just before the drying finish. Body is a bit watery even for the style. Medium to low carbonation. A pretty good bitter.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - golden amber, decent head. Nose - dried orange, brown bread. Light citrus. Taste - fruitcake including candied orange and light raisin. Also, an underlay of caramel. Palate - creamy texture. Would prefer a little more biscuit and dryness on the end. Overall - a decent example of the style.
