Alcohol is behoorlijk heet. Body is medium. Lange finish, iets droog.

Bottle from Beer Republic webshop Berkel-Enschot Netherlands, consumed at home Friday 11th April 2025 after working out in the garden, extending the vegetable and fruit garden. We had an amazing Nidi di Tagliatelle al forno (baked pasta nests) for tea and we're watching Foundation on AppleTV. Pours black with a small tan head. There's lot's of chocolate and vanilla on the nose along with some bourbon, I detect a little spice both on the nose and in the mouth but not necessarily cinnamon, also tequila and brandy barrels not as easily identifiable as the bourbon. Full in the mouth and indulgent and rich, The aforementioned aroma traits very noticeable here, it's a very good impy stout.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, wee hours of 25/03/24. Black with a thin tan head that veers to the edge and forms a small swirl mid glass. Nose is bourbon barrel, treacle toffee, dark malts, light roast, molasses, brown sugar melt, hint of tequila. Taste comprises dates, figs, spice, treacle toffee, hint of coconut shavings, multiple barrel tones with bourbon taking out some mellow tequila, cacao nibs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Top drawer complex sipper ... a fucken whole load going on here and comes in easy enough for the stated 14%.

9th March 2024
Near opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy dark malts, a little dry, good dark chocolate delivered in a slightly stingy thin way, a little dark malt cream. Back end is all about the barrelling, and that's a bloody good thing. Fruity bourbon, quite spicy. Brandy smooth fruits. Even more spice. Tequila spicy ripe lime on the back end along with a return of the dark malts, presenting at this stage as oaty chocolate biscuits. Well then, colour me thoroughly entertained. A layered and complex Impy that is gloriously boozy from its multiple barrels. Rich dark chocolate and coconut finish. Marvellous. But. Can't leave this alone, cmon FW. There is a world of barrelling beyond bourbon, brandy and tequila. You know it, I certainly know it, so go then, go explore it!

Black, med head. Full of choc, cin, ancho, vanilla, all the good shit. Full and rich, but great balance. Absolutely fucking delicious. Yes I'm biased towards these flavours but this is stupid good.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a small white head. Aroma brings out a strong barrel character of rum, bourbon and spirit, with gentle cinnamon and a robust roasted malt base. Flavour is rich, with lots of cinnamon, rum, bourbon and spirit. Really interesting mix of elements. It's extremely strong but balanced beautifully. It's not as refined as PNC 2021, but it's a lovely, big, slow sipper.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight transient tan head that went to edge bubbles. Aroma suggests chocolate and tequila - with burnt/toasted notes. Full bodied. Flavor does suggest chocolate, but there's a lot of brandy and tequila. Burnt/toasted grain. Some vanilla but not really bourbon for me. Definite wood notes. Not dry/not sticky. Lightly bitter. Rather delicate for such a monster.
