Pilsner Italo-Mexicaine - Collaboration Poincaré Chinatown X Brasserie du Bas-Canada.
Pour Oktoberfest, nous aurons le retour de cette merveilleuse bière collaborative ! Avec nos amis de Poincaré, eux-mêmes de grands fans de lager et de bonnes choses en tout genre, nous nous sommes inspirés de deux traditions brassicoles. Nous avons brassé une lager pale avec une bonne proportion de maïs à laquelle nous avons ajouté une bonne dose à froid des houblons Hallertau Mittelfruh et Saphir. Le résultat est une Pils bien sèche avec des notes très aromatiques de fleurs et d'herbes séchées.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 26 Sept 2024). Chill hazed bright yellow with small white head. Pils malt, light grain, floral hops with a very feint hint of lemon, light and refreshing.

Ok, what precisely is an Italo-Mexican pilsner besides a figment of somebody’s imagination. Straw colour, light haze, with a medium head. Balanced palate, modest bitterness and grainy malts, mostly sweet malt character. Good for what it is…because you’re allowed to set aside the grainy note.

Olfactif fruité tropical et floral, notes de pain, agrumes, melon au miel. De couleur doré clair, le liquide est limpide et couvert d’une mousse d’épaisseur moyenne assez tenace. L’entrée de bouche se veut encore une fois fruitée et florale avec un caractère miellé intense. Notes de maïs, de melon au miel, de poire, de céréales miellées avec une finale sucrée, un peu épicée et sans grande amertume. Coté style, certains éléments Italiens et Mexicains manquent à l’appel. Elle demeure cependant absolument goûteuse, fruitée et miellée à l’extrême. Son corps est riche et onctueux, ce qui rehausse encore ses saveurs. Bien Appréciée! Can: Poured a clear pale yellow color lager with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of clean cereal notes with some corn notes and dry herbal hops notes. Taste is also a mix of clean cereal notes with some corn and dry herbal hops notes with faint residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Refreshing lager but I’m not a big fan of corn malt.

Fairly clean, light golden colour with a bubbly white head, average stay and minimal lacing. Beautiful herbal aromas with hints of pears, apples over a straw malt base. The taste shows a little spiciness which confirms the Pils style with the herb notes, mild fruits and a nice drying finish. Gets a touch dirty, hazy as it pours. Quite a nice Italian-style Pilsner that is refreshing.

A blonde pils with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice crisp biscuit malt with grassy German hops, light mineral notes, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt with grassy hops, light mineral notes, light chalky notes, very nice. On tap at Hautes Plaines location.
