Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, it’s a brown ale with aromas of gooseberries, pine, toasted malt and caramel, and on the palate there’s brown sugar balanced with a fresh bitterness alongside orange and fresh bread notes.
Enjoy on its own or pair with grilled red meats or hard cheeses.

16th Oct 2018. 3rd of a pint in my local Wetherspoon (William Withering, Wellington Shropshire). Looked fine, red hue to the autumnal amber body, off-white topping. I found the aroma and taste a little strange, slightly bitter and 'off tasting' with a cobweb or two. A light nutty undertone maybe, but a beer not to my liking.

Deep amber with a thin off-white head. Tastes oddly old-fashioned. Nut and caramel with a restrained bitterness and some autumn leaves. A little coffee in the aftertaste. Yeah, that's about it. Ok, but leaves my socks firmly on my feet. Quite a satisfying drink though, bonus mark for that.
