A reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light butterscotch, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, nutty and smooth. On tap at Clybourn location.

On tap at Goose Island Clybourn. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of citrus, caramel, malt and grass. Also some hints of rye.

Notes from the file last updated in 2010. Poured ruddy with a slight head. Malty aroma. Flavor malty with a touch of chocolate. (Apparently didn’t notice the rye.)

Enjoyed on tap at GI Clybourn prior to doing some post-Christmas shopping around the area. Appearance clear amber red with thin white head that rims around the glass. Aroma mostly malty, toffee does come out a bit, slight yeast presence. Taste is nice and crisp with malty backing. Medium body, medium carbonation. Solid brew.

Sampled from the tap at the Clyborn location. Poured a clear amber with a gray head that dissipated to the edfges. Aroma was full of bread and hay with a bit of light hops and a hint of chocolate. Flavor began with bread and a bit of chocolate that was joined by a light hop note to round out the beer.

12oz bottle acquired from Unclemike...pours copper with a beige head...light sweet malt aroma with a cereal like smell...in the mouth, light sweet malty flavors also...not a whole lot happening except for malt...I don’t love it or hate it

Pour is a deep red with a white head. Aroma is a very burnt caramel. Flavor is where it falls flat. A bit of earthy hops but that is about it. Nothing to write home about.

Amber. Head is small but thick and lacing. Aroma is alcohol and hops. Taste is alcohol and hops, with the smallest malt flavor. Simple, and not very good. But maybe this is what an Irish ale should taste like.

2004 Draft @ Wrigleyville Brewpub. Good light cherry-amber color with a small beige head. Aroma is very light but shows off some decent hops. Flavor is dry, lightly hoppy, with little malt sweetness to balance, slightly metallic/astringent and medium-light bodied at best. The spice is lost in the watery palate and overshadowed by the dryness of the barley and hops. Potentially good, but no balance/complexity.
