Crowler from Tully's Inky black with a full khaki head that persists. Roasty earthy chocolate with a hint of dried fruit and maybe some creamed coffee. Pretty nice stout!

Reviwed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-light to dark brown color with a slim fingered white to off white foamy head that dissipated within a light lacing.
The smell had a light chocolate to roast. Coffee? Uh...it really comes super underneath.
The taste was mainly bitter with a nice roasty to sweet cocoa.
On the palate, this one sat at/about a nice light roasty sort of body to a nice smooth to rolling sweet palate.
Overall, I say this was a nice sweet/milk stout that I would have again.

Very dark brown opaque stout. Light and semi dry palate. Minerally dark malt with a little buried lactose sweetness and chocolate. No roast or bitterness. Light red berry fruits underneath. Tasty.

Clean dark brown stout with a thin dark moka head. In aroma, sweet chocolate, sugar cane and vanilla bean. In mouth, rich coffee beans and bitter chocolate, light hopping, sustained roastiness. Medium bodied. Sampled at Vermont Brewfest July 19 2008.

Pretty close to black. Aroma is molassesy, slightly fruity with a hint of roastiness. Rich molasses, some light burnt cashew notes. Very slight fruitiness. Big chewy rich molassesy finish, again with a hint of acridity from the roast, almost like a roast chicory.

Thanks to JoeMcPhee for sharing this - dark brown, slightly red beer, with a tiny ring of foam - the aroma is pretty doughy, with some hints of chocolate-covered cherries - mildly chocolate flavor - quite yeasty, with cookie dough flavors and a touch of roast - decent.

Huge, cascading, tan head atop a dark brown/black body with medium clarity. Retention and lacing are strong.
Biting and quite sweet in the nose, as the hop bitterness, and darker malts add quite the punch. Unfortunately, plentiful sweet caramel and toffee notes are right beside it, and, rather than balance, I feel they both just muddle and overwhelm. That said, what is there is interesting, I just think it needs toning down. Clean, though, and without any alcohol warmth.
The flavor, however, definitely finds itself awash in alcohol, hop and roasted malt bitterness, with a massive choco-caramel sweetness that is almost gooey. Abrasive on the palate. Supple malts, of course, and a fairly tight carbonation, but just way to forceful. Light hints of adjunct sugar do not help its cause either.
