Crumbs Amber Lager is the first beer produced by Crumbs Brewing.

It uses delicious, unsold bloomer loaves from Reigate’s Chalk Hills Bakery as a key ingredient in the brewing process.

Brewed in a Vienna Lager style it's rich with a lingering malty flavour. Hopped with Progress the bitterness is subtle making it a very sessionable beer.

Can from Waitrose. Clear dark gold/amber colour with thinnish white head. Nice inviting aroma with caramel, cereal, pear, grass. Taste hits the spot for the style; caramel, bread, light fruitiness, crisp, grassy and herbal in the finish. Near medium bodied, light chewy, moderate to frothy carbonation. Well executed.

Bottle from Waitrose, Saxmundham. Darker clear amber with a head. Traverses the line between ale and lager very well, there's characteristics of both here, with the latter perhaps a little more dominant in terms of taste, but certainly not texture.

500ml bottle: BB Dec 2021. Drank while preparing the BBQ at home on 17th Apr 2021. It's an amber coloured lager, clean and clear pour, white crust. Semi-sweet bread roll sort of thing with extra maltiness.

[50cl bottle from Wiatrose, Bracknell.] A bright golden amber pour with a thin white head and attractive lacing; malty aroma with a hint of grass; full bodied with a caramel malt taste nicely balanced with a herbal bitterness. A rather good Vienna style lager.
