Dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights, a big frothy-creamy light mocha-coloured head, great retention and leaving thick creamy lacing waves. Aromas of roasted barley base with apples notes from the hops, chocolate malts and hints of coconut. The taste has some rusty water with the burnt malts. The hops have something to do with this, hence not the biggest fan of these in here. Just seem a little unbalanced to get this rustiness. The grassiness of it is fine, and the dryness nice. Everything seems to blend a little better as it pours. A real, robust porter that gets the job done.

A deep dark porter with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light mineral notes, licorice, powdery character, pleasant.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt notes with some black cholate notes and earthy hops notes. Taste is a mix of dry black chocolate notes with some earthy dry hops with some dry bitterly roasted malt notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable porter but hops are not as predominant as I was expecting.

De fortes odeurs de café fort et de chocolat noir composent cet olfactif bien rôti. La mousse moka moyennement petite s’attarde sur un liquide noir et opaque. Douce, veloutée et bien chocolatée en entrée de bouche. Des saveurs de chocolat au lait, de brownies et de café léger se terminant par d’intenses houblons aux allures de résine de conifère qui procurent une amertume hors du commun pour ce type de bière. On se rapproche de la Black IPA. L’amertume est soutenue et traine longtemps en fin de bouche. La bière demeure cependant très équilibrée alliant malts doucereux et résine intense. La corpulence est plus pleine qu’un porter traditionnel et sa texture est bien veloutée. La carbonatation est moyennement faible et l’alcool très bien intégré. Excellent Porter alliant douceur bien maltée et chocolatée à une amertume affirmée tout à fait Américaine. Ça me plait beaucoup!
