Second Schwarzbier rating of the night (the other being Boréale Agate Iris). Same clean dark brown with a ruby highlight, a frothy, slightly creamy beige head, good retention and some thick foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with lots of fresh cut grass hoppiness. The taste shows the same. Thin enough mouthfeel, crisp and refreshing. Not bad for the style, but did prefer the Boréale one, as smelt better.

A deep dark Schwarzbier with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light fruity esters, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, sweet chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light peated notes, light cereals, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Des notes de pain bien rôti, de légers accents de café et des noisettes grillées nous donnent un olfactif doucement torréfié. Crémeuse et pétillante, la mousse est de couleur moka, épaisse et tenace, se déposant sur un liquide brun aux reflets roux et très limpide. En bouche, les notes de torréfaction sont douces mais dominantes. Saveurs de toast bien grillée, de léger café suivi d’une finale douce-amère d’accents de torréfaction. De légers accents de houblons floraux et herbacés s’immiscent en fin de bouche pour rehausser la sensation de sécheresse de la finale. Une excellente Schwarzbier. Tout à fait représentative. Can: Poured a black color lager with a medium size dark foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt notes with some black chocolate notes is quiet enticing. Taste is a good mix of black chocolate notes with some light residual sugar notes with a semi-dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Solid interpretation of a style that is not brewed often enough.
