Pours a nice near black from a can. Roasty malt aroma and flavor, mocha notes. Sweet but not overly so, finishes a little dry. Good beer.

Can @ Sunrise/Sunset, Brooklyn. Pours opaque dark brown with a large spongy tan head, faint roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter mocha-caramel taste with dried dark fruits, smooth thin body, long roasted malt finish. I honestly expected richer flavor.

16 ounce can At District Tap House in NYC. Jet black pour leaves incredible lacing. Roasted malt nose hints at coffee and cocoa. Flavor upfront is roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice and treacle. Lots of bitter hops balance this nicely. Tasty.

Canned 9/28/22, drunk 1/15/23. Clear dark brown, light tan head slowly fades to cover/ring. Ashy, but also a bit cidery? Guess that's just the roast but it's a bit odd and seems sourish. In the mouth it's a bit cidery indeed with sourish, very bitter, seemingly old/spoiled roasted character. I dont know. Chris didnt seem to be bothered by it. Maybe I'm just thrown off by the lack of sugar, bourbon and adjunct. Texture is fine with an oily, medium, well-attenuated body. No alcohol. Getting a lot of soapy bitterness.

16 oz. can shared by ClarkVV. Aroma of vanilla, roasted barley, char. Flavor is a reflection of aroma. Mouthfeel and body are correct. A nice standard stout.

Dark pour and ok head. Nose is chocolate and soy sauce. Tastes of soy, ash, silky chocolate, coffee. Silky as the description says. Pretty darn good straight up stout.
