Served from a fake beer engine at The Bishop’s Arms in Gothenburg. Black. Beige head and lacing. Aroma of citrus, liquorice and pine. Similar taste and aftertastem bitter liquorice in aftertaste. Still with citrus. Particularly grapefruit. Interesting, perhaps. Astringent mouthfeel.

330 mml bottle tasted on 17/08/2014. Hazy dark brown colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, hops, chocolate and coffee. Taste is very roasty and hoppy with notes of dark chocolate. A little bitter aftertaste with a touch of dry. Medium body and perfect carbonation for a Black I.P.A. A little of sediment. Very nice and well balanced beer. Next one please!

330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to Erwin! Dark brown. Bitter roast, soy, bitter, touch pine, faint chilli-like quality. Very bitter roast, herbal, resin, touch ashes, liquorish, lingering bitterness, pine. Very grainy. Bit too bitter & roasted for my personal preference, still nice.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very hoppy, resinous, grassy, fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body, creamy texture. Taste: bitter hops, grassy, some citrus, caramel, some vanilla, bitter. Aftertaste: hoppy, grassy, resinous, little roasted, very piny, dry.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Beerbliotek Black IPA Cascade Columbus ].Clear dark brown color with a large, creamy - frothy and open, good - fair lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, citrus, grapefruit, orange - citrus, light wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration, pine bitter, citrus, chocolade, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140207]

Tap@CBF2014 - black pour with small bubbly tan head. Fresh citrusy and roasted malty aroma and taste, big grapefruit and pine on the palate, great bitter finish. One of the best BIPA’s I have had so far. Lovely stuff.

Fra fad på Tap1 mai-14: Heldige meg som oppdaget et nytt og meget interessant bryggeribekjentskap, de sto ikke engang i oversikten over utstillere.En black pale ale (som begrep et oxymoron), kompetent så det holder! Fint skum, deilig aroma, utmerket munnfølelse og god balanse. En kledelig touch av kaffe både i smak og den tørre avslutningen. Må få tak i en flaske av denne.
